1. The Lunchbox
This movie about a woman trying to
entice a disinterested husband and a man whose life changes when he gets the
wrong lunchbox is quietly powerful.
2. The Godfather
This movie is full of life lessons
that I hope I’ll never need, like, “Leave the gun, keep the cannoli”, and a few
I live by, like, “Never tell someone
outside the family what you are thinking.”
3. The Philadelphia Story
Katherine
Hepburn, Cary Grant, and Jimmy Stewart all in one movie. How can it not be good?
4. The Artist
We take
dialogue for granted. The Artist tells a
great story like the silent pictures of yesteryear.
5. The Intouchables
A story of a friendship between a
rich quadriplegic man and his unconventional caregiver. It was inspired by a true story and is truly
touching.
6. A Separation
An
Iranian film about a troubled marriage. Life
is hard everywhere.
7. Roman Holiday
Audrey
Hepburn at her best. This movie is a
great escape.
8. The Sound of Music
I never
get tired of watching and singing along.
9. Star Wars
This is a nostalgic favorite. I was too young to appreciate the original
when it first came out, but the trilogy was an integral part of my childhood.
10. Bringing Up Baby
I went through a Katherine Hepburn
/Cary Grant phase in my youth. This
movie is possibly their funniest.
